POSITION GOAL

Schedules diagnostic tests/surgeries in a timely manner, calls for referrals, and ensures that patients have the necessary information and orders prior to scheduled test.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries as needed.
• Process outgoing referrals.
• Ensure patients have the necessary test/surgery appointment information to include location, date, and time.
• Schedule follow up appointments.
• Collaborate with the necessary departments when an urgent request arises, to include assisting with pre-certification (when needed)
• Route charts and films for tests and surgeries per the physician’s protocol
• Obtain authorizations for surgeries and in-office procedures.
• Coordinate and schedule incoming referrals per physicians’ appointment protocol.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

Required:

• One (1) year of experience in medical office setting.

Preferred:

Familiarity with surgical scheduling, insurance authorizations, and EMR systems.

Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Special Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) may be required.
• Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
• Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA.
