MRI Technologist PRN

Position Goal
Perform exceptional imaging procedures using radiofrequency waves and strong magnetic fields at a high technical level.
Position Responsibilities:
- Be able to put patients at ease, keep safety a priority.
- Must be knowledgeable in hazardous materials and proper reporting of equipment repair needs.
- Keep patients mentally and physically comfortable.
- Inject patients with contrast material.
- Must be aware of each physician’s protocol.
- Responsible for keeping the MRI rooms stocked with appropriate materials.
- Operate MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for Radiologist via associated computer applications.
- Organize and prepare images, patient history, and paperwork for radiologists’ interpretation by using fax and Teleradiology via internet.
- Assure that images meet the established quality standards.
- Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
- Assist with entering MRI reports into patient’s charts.
Experience:
Required:
Preferred:
- One (1) year of MRI experience.
Education:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Special Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be able to work independently and display excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must maintain current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Must be organized.
- Must have basic computer skills/administrative skills.
- Must have proficiency with cross sectional anatomy.
- Must have exceptional knowledge of anatomy.
