Position Goal:

The Audiology Assistant will assist HMG Audiologist(s) as assigned and provide for administrative/clerical support to the audiology function.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist Audiologist with scheduling and conducting hearing screenings/tests for patients.
• Review and maintain charts to ensure completeness/EMR guidelines w/reviewing clinicals.
• Escort patient from waiting area to audiology area, triage as needed.
• Constant monitoring of schedules and patient flow to ensure maximum efficiency/organization.
• Assist patients with medical devices (hearing aids etc.).
• Ensure all equipment is safe working order.
• Demonstrate compliance with all HMG audiology policy and procedure. Follow all state/federal regulations.

Experience:

Required:

• One (1) year relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Experience under the guidance of a licensed Audiologist.

Education:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

• Advanced/higher education in related area.

Special Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) may be required.
• BLS certification.
• Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty.
• This position may require irregular work hours.
• Knowledge of audiology equipment/medical terminology.
